Why is it that all cells perform their duty?

There seem to me,2 answers for it...a utilitarian one and another one which is on a higher plane(no..not (1,1,0)).

Doesn't it seem weird to you, how each cell endless and diligently performs it duties without fail? How cells remain in harmony, and yet help each other out in carrying out there own duties?

On a hilarious note, how would the thinking process of a cell work?
"Hi!yay!!great...i have been born out of one cell, say,by mitosis..

wohoo!i didn't know it by i have another brother of mine just round the corner..

oooh.not only one brother, but millions of them. and hey!they all look alike..

yaar, life mein kuch fun bhi hona chahiye..chalo..cancer kare!

*now the dilemma of life begins*
am i special? was i born to do a special task, since everyone of my so called busy-in-their-own-task brothers are doing the same task that i am doing..still thinking..

dameet,its time to die...

tada!"

How is it that they all do their work so efficiently to make the body run so perfectly in sync?
And maybe they all get tired of our thanklessness towards them, that they start misbehaving towards the end of life…or as we age?

One of the solution towards this dilemma is...

They do it just utalitarianly..

All the desire is only their own survival, own growth, own promotion(if there is any,in the cellular world),and their own propagation.

They are selfish, mindless freaks, who are rigid, move only as per their DNA commandments, to attain a successful cellular life.

In short, much like towards world, they do everything just for their own utility..for their own benefit..not thinking, for any communal/community cellular benefit.

Another point of view, would be to assume them to be carefree, yet caring, social beings, who are performing their duties out of love for the body, for the love of the well being of life and its sustenance.

They are true saints, selfless, being born and dying every second for our well being, our life..

Maybe they don't know it, that they do so for a common good, maybe they're just doing what they think is right, but still unknowingly, they are doing this out of love.

And,as concerns with me, I think this is theory I support.. out of love, shall all beings be born!

Artificial Brains??

One fine day, inhabiting the portals of the library, a discussion begins, soon, passionate arguments are thrown around and very soon, it explodes into a conflict of ideas, and the resulting chaos threw me out of the library! (Well, yeah! The discussion was being the cause of anguish to the typically retentive, repetitive medical student who has his/her plans chalked out :P)

So, this discussion was about Artificial Intelligence, or to be more specific, why and how natural intelligence differs from artificial intelligence....?
Anyways, so, if you have reached this part of the blog-post, lets continue further....let us assume modelling a human brain, in all its complexity , is possible....then, let us try to answer some questions:

Q.1: What does the brain do?

Well, even today, after years of research, no body, can with certainty, clearly define and designate the brain’s functions.
The rationale behind designing an artificial heart/ leg/lung is that they have a explicitly clear and understandable function(s), that can be reduced to a simple mechanical bottomline for eg: the heart pumps blood, the leg is responsible for locomotion, and the lung facilitates gas exchange.
Conclusion:
We are unable to, in gross terms, understand what consciousness is, let alone model it!!!

Q.2 :Are you the same person, today, that you were yesterday, and will you be the same person tomorrow that you are today?

Well, if you say, Yes-well, then, I’d say, No....Every Second is a learning experience for the brain- its internal circuitry being continuously changed by charging and updating!
But, even a computer can learn, right? But, again, would it be wrong to state that the scale of dynamism is very different? A computer, will learn and modify itself, only when, it has been “taught” to “learn” by predetermined rules (software)!

The brain, however, or rather, the biological neurons, don’t just change the strength of their connections, they grow new connections, and let old ones atrophy i.e. they change their physical shape => Hardware is indisguishable from software!

Roger Penrose and Deep Thought
The famous mathematician, Roger Penrose, in his inimitatable style, brought into focus, why the human consciousness cannot be modelled by a conventional Turing machine.
Computers function by means of algorithms :
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
.............
............
However, the human brain does not work in this number crunching mechanical way!
Penrose pointed to the example of the chess computer, Deep Thought, which was confronted with a chess problem, in which it had only pawns left, apart from the king. The pawns were positioned in an impenetratable way, and all that a human player had to do to avoid defeat was to position the king behind the pawns. The mechanical way that Deep Thought was programmed, it took the rook, and thereby, lost the game.
Moral of the story: True, the game couldn’t be saved even by a seasoned chess player, but what Penrose tried to project through this example was that humans use more than just a fixed set of rules that are implicit in the problem to be solved.

Maybe, thats what Niels Bohr meant when when he admonished a student- “You are not thinking, you are just being logical!”
The whole Brain, thus, can be thought of as a mechanism for reducing risk, by making more accurate predictions about the likely result of any particular course of action, on the basis of past experience and memories. And it is our consciousness that helps us select and edit what gets into our memories!

In sense, then, we can now, say, that we are our memories- accumulated, nurtured and pruned over a lifetime- this wonderful mechanism, offers us, some degree of freedom from neural determinism, and probably, and probably, makes us the unique person that we are!
Then, why did the Hypothesis that “we” are nothing but complicated machines arise? It is, to a large extent true, with respect to our bodies, because, regarding bodies as machines, has definitely enabled several breakthroughs in biology and medicine.
And, it wouldn’t be wrong to conclusively say, that it is only of limited validity, with respect to our minds.
Maybe, it was a similar hope, that considering minds as mechanisms can help us, one day, discover, what makes the unpromising, gooey, creamy mass floating in a liquid aka the brain “tick”?
And only when we are explicitly able to pin down how the brain makes chaos in order to make sense of the world, can we truly understand ourselves, our worlds, our worlds of sensation, thought, feelings and emotions....

P.S: If this post appears ambiguous, then, I would choose to explain by quoting Jung - “I prefer ambiguous language, since, it does equal justice to the subjectivity of the archetypal idea and to the autonomy of the archetype!”

Afterthought:
It definitely is a tough task to model the human brain, in all its splendour. However, if we, now introduce a generic term “neural nets” in this discussion, which, arguably is the closest we have got to modelling the brain in silicon, it is indeed possible to model the essential functions of the brain. As they say, it really isn’t necessary to build replicas of bird’s feathers in order to fly!
Carnaame!

College ke kaarnaame:

A few things happened in the college,or let me say, with some college people and though i hate to put it like this,I was the central joker in all.

Both of them, happened the same day,and lemme put them chronologically yet diplomatically:

1.I was coming back from Lakshmi nagar, after meeting a friend and was walking back from the bus stop to my place. As usually happens with people of my age, both of their eyes always fixed into their mobile phones.

I walked past a lady,and then..after a few(10) steps i realize..wasn't this esha's mum?

I turn around immediately, saying loudly,Namaste aunty(no..no..don't take me like that,i was in a good mood that day, that's why i took so much of pain).

She is bewildered..amazed at the loudness and the distance after which is spoke..and then says..namaste namaste..maine pehchaana ni.

By this time,I had a good look at her,and realize that she does ook like her mother, but then there's some change.

Chalo baal katwaa liye honge i think. Then i give her another look,a grim one this time..and she says, maybe terrified of my face and the absurdity of the situation..haan haan,ab pehchaan liya.

I was still away from my place,so walking back,i again started what my generation is best at.I typed a message:"chee esha, teri mummy ko maine namaste bol ke darrrra diya!".

Happily,I entered my house, thinking what a scene would it be when she asks her mum about this incident.

She replies:"ah...kab?kahan par?".I reply,"koi ni..kal bataunga".

And then,I start off with the paper, thinking what fun it would be to narrate this story to other people.

And suddenly,it occurs to me..both of her parents are out of town for the last one week!

2.Ye waala aur bhi mast tha!

I was to talk to my friends mum and convince her to send her(my frnd) to the college trip.

One of my "dangar" frnd gave me her mum's number, saying hat if he talks, her mum would even stop sending her to the college.SO fine,i say,i'll talk.

I call up one day,(no not so easily..just after much delibration and convincing and rehearsals myself),and ask on the phone for Mrs Day.

Her father picks up the phone, says she's not around and then, maybe because he was busy, cuts the phone without asking any further question about my identity or reason for calling..thankfully(for we are not so much acquainted with him, than her mum).

A few days later, again making up my mind(i had to think upon this and medidate for this.for 3 hrs..nah..kidding),i call on the same number again. Her dad agains picks up the phone.

I ask for Mrs Day,he says, she's not around..And this time...I was not so thankful. He asks, whom am i talking to,for what reason do you want to talk to her.

My mind slams up its breaks and all making up of mind seems only a touch up..I reply in hesitation..hi this is sameer...do you want insuance??

The gentleman replies...no not right now.Thank you.
phew..close shave...

Then we decide to call my frnd up and ask her to pass the phone to her mum.Sure shot, method this time.

imagine what would have happened if she would have said..mum to nahi hai..le papa se baat kar.

His dad replies:haan beta batao, kya bat hai..
me...ah..uncle...insurance??
how to black mail your teachers....

Now this is really true...this is what we did plan to do when we were sick of waiting for hours(half hour) for our turn in the biotechnology experiment.

There's an apparatus called the laminar flow, just to keep the air inside it sterile.Since we have 3 such things in our college(which is still great, comparing to other colleges),we still have to wait while our turn comes up to use it.

So,the way we devised was very simple.a few phone calls,a few sim cards and peace of mind.

Step 1.
look for your teachers keys lying on the table around the lab.

Step 2.steal it.

now comes the fun part..
call up your teacher from the cold room(every biotech lab has one,in order to keep things which we have already spoit, unspoiled).Say to her in a heavy voice..

"aapka chaabi ka guccha humaare pass hai.agar gucche ki salaamati chahte ho,to chup chap group 4 ko sabse pehle experiment karne do."

teacher will reply:tumhe jo chahiye wo le lo,bas mere challe ko kuch mat karna.

you:jyaada hoshaari dikhaane ki koshish ki to tumhaari challe ke tukde tukde kar ke washing room me chupa denge.agali awaaz tumhaare challe ki hogi...

place the key ring in front of the handset and shake it..

teacher:nahiiii....

you:hmm...agali baar phone karke batayenge ki challa kahan aur kab milega.

move out of the cold room, see her reaction, see how many people are left to do the experiment.you suddenly see her talking to the lab assistant.

you call up again:hmm...tumhe kahan nahi tha jyaada hoshiyaari karne ki koshish ki to..
ab tumhaare challe se tumhaari gaadi ki chabi..

remove the key marked "maruti" from the challa.

teacher:nahiii...mere gaadi ki chaabi nahi!

you:to kyun ki itni hoshiyaari?chup chap experiment ka samaan le kar, cold storage mein aa jao.Aur is baar kissi lab assistant ya HOD ko iktila kari to...

teacher:haan haan theek hai..

By the time, she comes to the cold storage, you leave the chaabi ka challa there, move to the laminar flow,do your experiment(by this time, everyone would have done theirs, and youd've had your fun),
ask some doubts to the lab assistant(to appear innocent and completely interested),and then while your teacher is inside the cold room, lock her from outside!!

easy type='text'>Green Polity.

With Lok Sabha elections stated to fall next year, government and other parties are already in poll mood. This fact is only strengthened by the announcement of a sop a day. Though state elections (MP) may also fall next year but polices at the national level hold much more importance than those at state level. Every party will be having agendas; few very close to their heart and few will be those garnered during the course of past five years. But the important fact that remains to be seen which party is going to take risk to go green. With going green I meant to say, which party is going to raise voice against global warming, increasing pollution, depleting forest cover, extinction of animals as a part of their national level manifesto.

At present I see no party with green in their cards, and none who will rise above their colours be it blue, red or saffron. Indian flag though have green in 1/3 of its area which shows our love for green but it somehow does not translates to love for ecosystem. What can we hope if none of the probable talks about ecology and global warming, and aren’t such issues above the process of policy making? Policies are fine, but they need to be ported to real time conditions and this fact is well understood by all including you, politicians and me. India is one of those countries which posses large amount of biological diversity and also some of the very delicate ones. And if not taken care of then they will only remain in the text books for students in school and that too will come after a decade owing to late modification in text books. There are too many of questions than answers. As we the general public still do not know whether any of the party is taking climate change issue seriously or not. Adding to that we also do not know which party is greener of the lot, as I suppose no one have yet ranked them on this issue.

There may be some arguments that climate change is not seen as a major problem by most of the public, and inflation will rule the election season this time. One can agree to this fact but still I do not fine people in general ignorant of this topic as such and they might just not prioritizing it highly when compared to price rise and other economical parameters. But on any given day if you sit and explain public that how ecological change will lead to adverse economical change then there would be really very few not giving you ears. Indian polity in general thrives on this very ignorance of general public or we can also say that it thrives on lack of any positive action by the public. There is regular reporting of illegal mining but there is no reporting of any positive action taken by the government and on to that there is no questioning by the public and since there had been no system of public questioning there has been no answering system either.

If we go deeper into the mud puddle we might end up finding lack of political will to curb any illegal activity harming ecology. So we can say that, its not important what parties are saying but what parties may do, and we all know the quantum of difference between the two. Climate change is inevitable at both global and local level, and its really a high time to check whether the part or person we are going to elect sees the future clearly or not, or is it still sticking to the past.

Expelled...?What to do?

Recently, being denied attending a class, being only 5 minutes late, due to another teacher who held up for long(no,really we don't study this much,ahh...we were on the phone),we sat upon thinking what could we do,using horse sense to enter the class
at any cost.

I'll refer to my teacher as Sir.

The sequential algorithm for entering the tut class at Ts10(Tutorial room 10) is:

1.Poke in your head and ask,Sir may I come in?.You'll get your answer as no.
Wait for 2 minutes.Poke in your head again and this time say,Sir may I come in please?and make faces that'll give cute puppies a complex.

If step one fails:
2.Enter the class with all might.Open the door wide and go on walking to take a seat. The teacher says,"You boy".Act as if you can't listen and speak."ah?ah ha?ahaha?".The teacher repeats, you repeat.Continue until the teacher says"ok for gods sake have seat".
You have a seat. You:Thank you sir.

The teacher is perturbed and asks how could you listen to that line?
You again go on"ah?ah ha?ahaha?".

3.Throw a stone wrapped letter from outside. The letter says:

"Aapki beti humaare paas hai.Jyaada chalaaki dikhaane ki zaroorat nahi hai, nahi to aapki beti ke tukde tukde kar ke,hmm....hm....
ok,baaki baatein baad mein.Humein andar aane do."

The teacher screams from inside"I don't have a daughter".

You send in another letter:

"oh sir saari,my mistake.Aap to bura hi maan gaye.
Aapki biwi humaare pass hai.
saari for the typo."

Even if he says I am not married, send in another stonewrapped letter,

"Sir kyun bhaav kha rahe ho?Lo khud hi bhar lo..
Aapki ______ humaare paas hai.
ab kush??"

4.Being rejected out of the class you go on to he kadi chawal waala outside the college.
Suddenly you decide to call the teacher you expelled you,in the voice of a village born, heavy voiced dad.

You(heavy voice)(on phone):Kyun bhai, aaj humaare chhore ko andar kyun ni aane diya aaj?Bade din ho gaye karcha paani diye..

(to kadi chawal waala)bhaiya, thode pakode aur daalo...humaare aate hi pakode khatam ho gaye?

(on phone):ni ni ji...aapko nahi..aap to bura maan gaye.

5.If all else fails,
Enter the class in the end.
With head held high.
The teacher asks"Now what??"
You say in booming voice

"Varun meri proxy maar di na??"

Pakistan And Inda:The Contrast

Just read this email, written by Mr. Aman(aman1675@hotmail.com)...
nice contrast between India and Pakistan..

Pakistanis surely coin more colourful political slogan than us. They are also less subtle.

So, the next time you see visuals of a PPP protest rally on your TV screens following Benazir's assassination, strain your ears a bit to catch a most telling slogan: Amreeka ne kutta paala, vardi waala, vardi waala. It would lose much flavour in transliteration, but the meaning would not be lost on even a non-Hindi speaker. Now when was the last time you had the army called a dog, and that too an American poodle, on Pakistan's streets?

And this is a Pakistan under an almighty (lately, former) general who has the power to declare and suspend emergency in televised speeches, the power to make 36 (or thereabouts) amendments in his "constitution" at a press conference, and whose ability to take the biggest decisions on the spot is the envy, often, of the Indian politician, and has been a cause for admiration among India's chattering classes.

How many times, since he came on his first visit for the Agra summit, have we heard fellow Indians, including serious, knowledgeable people, talk of him with a sense of awe?

See, how confident he looks, how well he speaks, the swagger, so impressive, knows his mind, is so fit and energetic, so much in control, so macho, can-do and so on. The sub-text was, view this is total contrast with our own political class: overweight, badly dressed, clumsy, evasive in their answers, indecisive, inarticulate and, horror of horrors, not even able to speak any English.

And then came Shaukat Aziz, on secondment from Citibank. So smart, articulate, in his smartly cut suits, blah, blah and blah. And what kind of people did we have holding the same job in India?

Gowda, who slept in Parliament. Vajpayee, who never seems to answer any question. Gujral who only uttered diplomatic platitudes that meant nothing. And Narasimha Rao, who mostly pretended he had not even heard the question.

Now let me tell you a few stories. Not necessarily connected either by timing or context, but yielding an interesting conclusion, nevertheless.

• One of the great untold stories of the Agra summit is how challenging it was for both Vajpayee and Musharraf to deal with each other.

One thought he had the answer even before a question had been asked. The other would think for ever, and often tire out his interlocutor. Apparently at one of the mid-day review sessions Musharraf shared his exasperation with his aides.

He said something like, I know you guys told me he takes time responding to anything,
but how do I deal with somebody who takes so long and then says nothing? A bit like John McEnroe tossing his racket in exasperation while playing Ramesh Krishnan and screaming: how do I play this guy? He serves at five miles per hour!

One of his aides tried to suggest that Vajpayee takes so long because he is processing Musharraf's question in his wise, old head. Musharraf was still irritated and somebody senior in his inner council said, with humour laced with disdain: to unka processor Pentium nahin, 286 hoga (then his processor must be a 286, not a Pentium).

• Now listen to the story from the other end. What exasperated Vajpayee most of all was Musharraf's cocky "decisiveness". "You are the prime minister, I am the president, if we agree on something, let's sign," he would say, while at the same time making changes on the draft of a likely agreement and asking Vajpayee to okay it.

He simply wouldn't buy Vajpayee's argument that he had a cabinet to go back to. "Par aap prime minister hain. Aap faisla keejiye (but you are the prime minister, you decide)," Musharraf would say.

So when Vajpayee briefed his aides and fellow members of the Cabinet Committee on Security (who, barring George Fernandes, were in Agra), he said about his counterpart pretty much the opposite of what he said of him: "He is in such a hurry. Kuchch sochne ko taiyyar nahin hain. Sub kuch faisala abhi chahte hain, kaise samjhaoon bhai." Or words to that effect.

• In the main lounge of the Congress Centre at Davos, Switzerland, where all kinds from heads of state to global corporate leaders to rock stars to ordinary journalists congregate and rub shoulders during the World Economic Forum January meeting, I found my old friend, Pakistani journalist, part-time politician, now a full-time exile, Boston University professor and also an Indian Express columnist, Husain Haqqani. As we exchanged gossip, Tariq Aziz walked past, accompanied by a couple of minders, perfectly cut suit, pompous, smug smile and all.

Just that morning he had lectured many of us senior editors over breakfast, laying down the law for India: nothing would move, the gas pipeline, even the permission to Indian private airlines to fly to Pakistan unless the "core" issue was addressed. Again there was some admiration for his confidence and clarity even among the Indian contingent as he was "so unlike our bumbling politicians".

Haqqani's eyes were now lit up with mischief. He pointed his finger directly at Aziz and said: "You know what they say, Davos is the Disneyland of the mind. If that be so, there goes its Mickey Mouse."

How have the relative fortunes of the two competing kinds of leaderships and nations under their charge evolved over these seven years?

Musharraf now looks bumbling and unconvincing, an international joke, a pitiable, forlorn figure, hated by his countrymen, distrusted by the world and mentioned dismissively even by Barack Obama.

Shaukat Aziz has disappeared from the scene, even losing out to an ordinary mortal — coincidentally from India — for the top job in his alma mater, Citi.

Their country is a mess, their own army, for the first time, is seeing its credibility, power, its pre-eminent position in Pakistan's society and power structure questioned.

Its political class is decimated, its institutions fatally wounded. How do people as proud as the Pakistanis feel when their dictator offers to salvage his credibility by summoning the Scotland Yard to investigate the assassination of their most prominent political leader?

Nobody believes their election commission's intentions, motives or judgment in postponing their election.

Vajpayee, on the other hand, sits at home, having lost power in an election, not in the pink of health, but satisfied at the way his country is moving. His successor, from the opposite side of the political fence, even comes to wish him on his birthday.

His country has meanwhile had many more state elections and another general election within a year or so will give his successors in his own party another crack at power. Now, think, who finally won.

The indecisive, inarticulate, ineffective slob who did not seem to have an answer to anything, or the macho, confident, smart, decisive, modern smartie who seemed to have an answer to everything?

There are many interesting, and important conclusions to be drawn from this complex argument.

But the most significant is this: a modern nation needs democracy and so it needs its politicians, however clumsy, corrupt, effete and power-crazed they may be. Because a military dictator can also be all of these things. The difference is, the political leader draws his power from the democratic process, so he has a stake in preserving that system, howsoever cynical he may be. The general draws his power by throttling the democratic system and its institutions and you can see the results of that in Pakistan.

So, in a democracy, howsoever powerful a Lalu or Mayawati, they have to shut up and listen when the Supreme Court speaks. The election commission can publicly upbraid both Sonia Gandhi and Narendra Modi.

We, the media, can question and curse who we want. It happens because the political class has the biggest stake in the democratic process, howsoever much it may wish to manipulate it.

In contrast, a military dictator owes his power to the absence of institutions, of checks and balances. That is exactly what Musharraf has done to his judiciary, the election commission and even the media. That is why he has to summon the Scotland Yard to investigate Benazir's assassination.

Aman

Pogo Amazing Kids

hey!

the pogo amazing kids awards is out!

well,I can't participate in it(u know,i am underage)

but I want all balshrees(of eligible age) who doesn't know about it,should know about it...

http://www.pogo.tv/contest/2008/06_paka/index.php

putting this up on the blog too..

cheers,
sameer

Hello...!!!

Hi guys..This is the first time I'm sharing something very very important with u all...I'm the Balshree of year 2003 in creative writing(Marathi).Balshree was the competition which gave me confidence that even I can write well and express my emotions effectively...

N Today I'm glad to inform you all...I've published my first ever book of poetry -CHANDANCHURA...Chandanchura means crushed stars...N the sky looks most beutiful when plenty of stars are there...Just like that are our ideas...Random but attractive n beutiful!!!!!!!! type='text'>Fractly Speaking

After using Photoshop for over three years I finally got tired of doing the same things to get a random fractal-like background. Credit for some of the frustration goes to DeviantArt.com
Seeing some of the work there I was crushed to note that my pseudo-complex designs just didn't match up.
Nonetheless with 2GB of RAM and a 2.2GHz dual core beckoning it was time to call in the big guns. Thats where I came across Apophysis. It generates amazing fractals in real-time on the basis of the transformation you select. Yes I know the description is a bit vague, but given that even I am a noob as far as this software is concerned I hope most of you guys will tolerate it.
Any way I strongly suggest downloading one of the newer (post 2.05) beta versions as most of the tutorials I found work with these.
Also to get an idea of what you can do with Apophysis I have uploaded 3 of my latest creations.

Enjoy :)

The Bedouin

The Lady in the Water(This was touched up in PS later)

Dancing Twins

Note: This post was taken verbatim from my own blog. Oh yaa...(I had to open 10th std. Civics book to find the definition), but I am not going to waste my time quoting it, rather send you here. Do I hate socialism, I dont know but yes I would have loved it if Jessica Alba would have been in Red brigade, and Peta would have been under some Red agenda( I hope you understand). By the way, do you consider your self a socialist kind of person or a capitalist kind of person? I on record, yes on record consider myself a CAPITALIST kind of person.
I have my own reasons for it, prominently there are two, first being, I hate giving my ice cream to others, second I like to eat ice creams on another's money. These are two fundamental rules of capitalism, told no where. Enjoy your profits, try not to invest your money. Socialism is all skewed, if I would have been socialist then, I would not be eating ice cream on first part since I can not avail it for few beggars who roam outside Ice cream parlor, second, if I had to eat one, then I had to invest my money, and try that it should be enough for everyone around. So I using few ounce of my brain fluid have come to conclusion that 'I am capitalist'.
Human, though we can fight over it is an animal( few of my friends do not agree over it...they want to put 'social' before animal) we survived for such a long time because we fought for our food from the animals which were much stronger than us, from nature which was most of the time against us. We are still same, though now we call us civilized, and under this pressure of being civilized we pegged social before animal. All the great discoveries (off the record) were made for cynical reasons, and not for some social reasons. To make social discoveries and inventions you have to be a really great person, which by nature we are not. But to be popular you have to have an social agenda behind your innovation...now you have got two options, first become a great person and then make a social innovation, second, be a normal person, make a capitalist discovery and prove it that it is was social concern which prompted you for that discovery/invention/innovation, which by far is the easiest way.
This whole world is a part of some or the other kind of pyramid, where you eat ( both real and virtual) someone and someone eats you, and still few people wants to prove that socialism is basic property of humanity, bull ****. Some may argue that, its capitalism, due to which we are facing various demons of this modern era, like Global Warming, AIDS, Poverty and etc etc...I say NO its all because of what so ever amount of socialism percolated in our society. If it would have been (PURE)capitalism, then after creating lots and lots pollution, one would have not bothered to clean it up and would have left the place itself and would have given nature a chance to clean itself, but under socialism, you stick to the place citing social reasons, and try to do the job which you are totally unfit to do. AIDS can only be solved by the arms of capitalism, let the big companies make the vaccines, and then if they dont get ready to give you for cheap, ban them, which company in its normal mind would like to be out of a nation which have a ever growing population of HIV infected population.
Raam, on the beach of Rameshwaram, tried to be social, wasted his time, and finally resorted to capitalism...Capital Punishment...it worked.
To sum it all, one must use socialism as a tool of capitalism rather than something which is against capitalism. In ice cream analogy, spend some money on ice cream, eat it in front of poor, and inspire them (if any such thing happens) to have that ice cream, inspire them to use this capitalist world and get their very own cup of ice cream.

Ice cream for everyone...
(Sameer, I have increased the font size.)

Mindful Curry

So jee sirjees and madam jees, what do you think this article will contain?

i am still pondering over what to write and what not to,but then i decide to write about what you and i are doing right now.

thinking.

and just add a prefix before that, make that creative thinking.

As we all sit in our classes, muging up formulas, batalling assignents(and sometimes teachers),fighting for study material and notes, the aspect of our youthful minds that takes its toll,is thinking.

We are most of the times supposed to do what others are doing, and sometimes when we are supossed to do what we think,we don't get the time to think enough.

So what to do.
Simple,let your mind run amock.

Here are the various stratergies(a nice word i picked up from english news channels during the cricket season) which i sometimes employ during my waking hours, while doing the normal course of work.

One of the best ways to create something new is the think about the phrase "what next?".

For example, sitting in my physics class, there was a discussion on polarizers and cameras.i added "what next?".

The phrase became something like this:black and white pics, coloured pics, digicams, what next?

I asked some ppl,and the replies where surely creative.A hand held 3d camera.

The thinking might have been made earlier, but still something new from the ordinary.

do something like this, telephones, mobile phones, what next?
holophrapic 3d veiwers.

electronic meters,auto rickshaw meters,what next?
cycle rickshaw meters, mechanical or non mechanical, but non tamperable.

Things like these might be present, but then they surely do give you a new idea.As you think more about an idea, the better picture you get about it.

If your answer is something thats very very common, just add some adjective to it.like making things or processes cheap, available to all, locally used materials.

like,telescope,microscope,what next?
i say microscope, with the bamboo poles which are hollow.

i know this article is stretching far beyond its permitted length, but please, bull and bear with us.

The next approach, thats possible,is using problems.
like, just pick out a person from among the crowd, and think what problem would he be facing?

lets take global warming.
take biotech and add.

you get some protein capable of splitting water, releasing
hydrogen by hydrolysis, the economy turns from fossil fuel based to hydrogen fuel based.hydrogen gas, free and simple.

take counter strike.
take electronics,and add.
you get some devices fitted on the caps which act as detectors for lasers(LDR circuit etc.).

you use lasers on guns for firing.with some appropriate arragnement get some thing for scoring, and covert college campus into unreal tournamnet playground.

add biotech and air conditioning.(bacteria's cooling air?)

add biotech and fireflies.(proteins emmiting light transplanted into plants)

add electronics and pens(a pen that scans and prints too, ideal for copying from books into notebooks)

so just take a problem and add something to it to get something..well in the first and idea and then something concrete.

10 ideas you get,2 implemented,1 clicks.

Keep thinking,till i think..

what next?

Disclaimer:This post was posted first on jiityouthclub.org

Energy <strike>Disparity</strike>

____________ = k < = >Energy = Carbon(k)

Carbon <strike>Disparity</strike>

This blog off late was very focused on my creative stint with literature, and not so on my technological overviews. To say, you can remove Kartik from science, but not science from Kartik, so be it. One more thing which I would like to tell is that its examination season here, and my next exam which by any measure is very important, is all about energy, ecology, environment and society. This subject is somehow responsible for my this post, but the thing which really launched me to my computer chair was the Global economic summit, or something like that(forgot the name).

Not discussing much about the summit and coming back on the topic of energy and carbon, I think the formula I mentioned is very much clear even to the one who is not well versed with mathematics...( you still need to know the basics). Explaining it, its nothing but proving that carbon produced at present as we very well know is directly proportional to the amount energy used ( Here k is the carbon constant). World though globalised is yet not fair and equal, and it starts with energy and ends on carbon. There is a wide gap in per capita energy need between a resident of a developing nation and the one in developed nation. This some how as discussed accordingly is, translates into the carbon disparity. Energy diparity cn be directly linked to the development of a nation, and so can be the pollution. Reason being that with the present technologies which are very much dependent on carbon for energy, the more you use them, the more they will lead to the carbon production. We are having options but the options are either still under scientific domain, or are only in the reach of the rich.

Focusing on India, which is still beating its wings to get into the league of developed nations, is in a very trivial state. Since being a nation under the lime light due to its current economic growth, it is being asked to check its carbon emission and on the other hand, as it is not a developed nation, facing problems of electricity shortage is in dire need of energy, which means more production of carbon. Though due to this very reason India enjoys a very significant position in the market of Carbon credit, but we in no normal logic can undermine India's energy needs. India being on the leaner side of carbon production can cash on the international carbon credit policy, but the question remains for how long.

Development with itself bring various advantages, and one of them is being a first. This position is being still enjoyed by various nations. Lesser you are developed more the chains are around you. I am not hoping for sudden open sourcing in technology as it will mar the profits of being the first, so this brings India and nations on similar ground to become first. They have to somehow work in the manner so that they can remain on the profitable side of carbon economy and also on the healthier side of energy economy. We can not deny that the call of present is to save the globe from global warming, but we can also not deny from the fact that this whole scenario which includes carbon, energy, global warming is a rut. As it is with any kind of rut, you need to do some thing extra ordinary to come out of it. Demand of present is some extensive research in the fields of energy, and if it requires some global technological collaboration then on nation should not shy from that, this applies to developed and developing alike. Money is a sure lure, but to have a better world we need to have a much bigger goal and that is global sustainability. If we will survive for longer duration, I am sure there will be more options for earning money for all the people alike. Lets keep few things out of the money vision binoculars, and one of them has to be energy, and other can always be AIDS.

Disclaimer: This post was originally posted on my blog Kattak

This World is burning

This world is burning and its time for action...

It is said that, visuals speak more than words...

Blogging on a blog which is not read by many is in many ways similar to talking in front of a magical wall. You never know when you may utter that special word and the whole new world of different prospects and dimensions open up for you. This is my second attempt in last few days to try and utter few words to attain the Blogging Utopia. Frankly speaking I have nothing much to write, since its exam time, when most of the people look for hermitage in their books, I on other hand look for other things which would give me a different perspective and once again clean my mental black board so that I can study again. To mention, this blog post is neither about how should we blog and advantages and disadvantages of blogging nor is it about how I study during examination time.
This post is more...something more...its about Examination. Wherever I am crawling on net, I am seeing posted comments which are telling about the global horror of exams. Have any one of ever gave a thought that if Exams have to attain a physical or for that some meta physical shape and body then what it would look like? Spare a thought that is there a nation where there are no examination. We as students must have wasted many hours on debating about our education system, an examinations, so I am not going to reinvent wheel for you. I am in another realm altogether at present manner. I am thinking of giving Examination a shape. What it should be like....
Ahh... I am having a vision...(since this is examination season, we are very close to it...we can feel its presence on our bed, near our table...everywhere)
Its a kind of a elf...yes without any doubt. But we can not decide whether its a dark or light elf. (I for some reasons prefer Yaksha, more than elf...but since JRRT and many others didnt knew about them...so for common people like you and me, it has to be elf) They are beautiful, scented, and promising in their feel, they give you dreams, then enter in your dreams, and can play games with your psyche. Exam elf offers you great deal of promises and rewards if you start working for his purpose, but none is there to see when you reach the pre-stated point. Elf is gone, scent is nowhere to smell. Only bad dreams remains like a curse of elf, your fear surmounts your whole body, because the elf has put you in the result trance. I previously stated that one can not be sure whether Exam elf is a dark or light elf, because if you deny to follow what it is telling you then it starts bothering you in manners never dealt before in life. Your parents are few of the easy target of the elvish powers, it starts controlling your parents brain, and in this way tries to dominate your instinct to oppose its greater cause. Have you ever spared a thought about the possible greater cause of this Exam elf...its to throw us back to the well of world, and stop us to achieve higher knowledge, to know more about yourself. Once you will get that knowledge, you will be in the zone where no elvish( so small) powers will be able to reach you.
I dont know, how this elvish breed got so much space in this world, how it got into the brains of selected few, who sat at the top level. From eons, these elves have been successful in what they want, to throw us away from the path of ultimate knowledge....
I have to cut it short....sorry mates...dears...some how the Exam elf of my house got that I am writing against him. My mom is under his powers...I have to go...to sit for his cause...

Sorry I

Madder than the Maddest cow...

Cow is integral part of Indian psyche. Cow have two ears, one tail, two beautiful eyes...do you wish to read the essay on cow...
Your wish granted, I am not going to write that.
My point is to bring your attention, on cows. Cutting across religions, classes, sects and all, we some how pay great respect to these creatures. Wonderful they are, intelligent they are, but still we dont have some Cowgirl(with super powers) so as to celebrate the cow culture in India. I can see, so can you, Cows which are so very important are not being treated as they should be, they are not enjoying the amount of respect which they should. What are they getting against their calm demeanor, they are being thrown out of cities...I am angry. I firmly believe that they should not be treated the ways humans are treated in our country, because humans are treated in mighty bad way. They deserve much higher level of respect and rights. They should have their very own meadows, where they can move freely and do what ever they can. And yes, there should not be any moral policing. And if some cow, among the new generation of free cows, rais some voice and write something against the old cowhood, then no one should release some fatwa against her. This nation needs freer cows, because we have not been able to provide the freedom which we though to humans. Since cows are regarded as hostel of all the Gods, so how can we not provide them freedom. Every cow, for that matter bulls also, should be allowed to shit the place the want in their Utopian meadow...come on its their creative freedom.
I personally am very inspired by the way cows behave and also with their punctuality, they always come at nearly same time for the small roti which my mom makes fot them. I am telling you that if these wonderful animals one day decide that hey deserve much more freedom than what we are giving them then its going to be a bad day...no coffees no teas no milk nothing. If they release fatwa and decide that they are not going to do any thing for the society, then from where are we going to have our new wisdom. Cows have from long and we can even go to terming it as immemorial time been very peaceful, lemme tell you, if they now decide to go the other way then you know what it can cause...
Lets give cows some freedom...Please...no fatwas....no killing...no over milking...we need more and more healthy cows for having a healthier nation.

After Effects of reading this article...

You are looking for your footwear so as to go out and help the cow.

THE COW in you is alive again.

You are madder than the maddest cow, and looking for the opportunities to meet me...

You didnt understood a word of what I have written and now you feel that I am living too close to cows.

As I always say....Feel free to comment.

<img width='1' emailed to
him.

Cricket crazy!

Chak de India...Chak de India...the rhyme and the songs goes on since
India won the final match against Pakistan,on that red lettered day of
24th september.

T-20,as the name goes, had had its effect. The format was
shorter, peppier and had dancers dancing for supporting each boundary.

ICC it seems has learned how to make the game much more interesting.

But lets think how to make the game even more interesting, inspired by
our famous gully games.

Here's what'll happen if the game is now based on the new format of gully games:

1.There shall be nothing as teams. The captains will "tip top" their
way to decide.

2.No toss for batting first. The team who brings the bat and/or the
wicket shall bat first.

3.Every over shall be begin with a try ball.

4.There are no runs for back..simply to say "back ke runs nahi hain".

5.The cricketer, whose home is near to the stadium will bring water for all.

6.The order of bowlers or batsmen will be decided by "pukai" or as
some people say as "pukam pukai".
The standard code to be followed will be "teen ka tala band".

7.If any new player joins the team for that match,he will be given the
first den...sorry the first opportunity to bowl.So to say "nayee ghodi
nayee chaal".

8.Hitting fours is ok.Hitting, sixes within the roped boundary is
ok.Hitting sixes into the stands is ok.But if the six is out of the
ground...the player is out!

9.If a bowler does not bowl well,he's given a "baby over" of
3 balls.

10.And the best one...!Direct catches are allowed, but to the ease of
fielders, now even "one tip one hand" is also allowed!

I hope those who have played plenty of gully games would be very happy
for the implementation of these rules.

And by the way,the idea of cheer leaders cheering on boundaries was
also taken from India only, where in Mumbai there's a dancing beer
bar,next to the stadium.

Cheers,
sameer<span spark plug which never forget to ignite.

I drive on comments, more comments I get, more easy it would be for me to write.

Now coming to the topic of global warming, though I was not invited to G8 or G5 summit and am not seeing and upcoming chances to be there with those decision makers. One thing is quite clear, they are not going to make great deal of change. Yesterday there was an article in Times of India, which stated that America have money to invest in every xyz research but not in the fields related to Global Warming and modeling. And things aren't going to be simple any time soon. There are many reasons, and most of them are related to economics and politics. I am no Guru in either of them but understands one simple thing that is PROFIT, and Global Warming is going to bring more and more profit.

Political Sense
America is in no mood to cut its emission, and probably it can not, for few very simple reasons, that there is huge political pressure on White House from industrial lobby, which is very strong in US. I haven't been to US, but one simple thing from which I have this inference, is the number of years for which American Industry is standing. For India it is not more than 60 to 70 years, and for them there industrial history dates back to nearly 200 years or so. And in 200 years and for a nation which plays a very dominant part in international politics, any sort of industry will have its windows in political system.
And as America is in no mood to cut down in emission norms and Mr Bush's feeling that the onus to cut emission of green house gases are on India and China. I am not hoping from something great from EU. And as the Big Daddies are not going to hold their barrels down, the aspiring Big Daddies (G5), are going to follow the suite. This means that we are not going to see and major bill passed in US senate, and this in turns also negates a possibility of a bill being passes in Lok Sabha, or even proposed for that matter. While the meant time we will continue feeding on American Media which will keep on reporting about Paris Hilton and about Brangellina and sometimes (rarest of rare) about few outdated models of global warming.
By the way I really did not likes Paris Hilton's sobbing photo. And Oh yes, she was not crying for the sentence she got, but for the terrible failure of the recently held G8 summit which was focused on GLOBAL WARMING.

Economical Sense
Now come to the economics of every thing related to global warming. Economics is the wheel on which runs politics. You name me a thing and I will tell you that it is in some way or other adding to the global warming. And this just do not limits to the non living things but to the living beings too. I was thinking of adding another topic, like Scientific sense but wont be able to do that as I am already under sever time crunch, my exams are running, so I have to run. One of the major reason behind global warming is undoubtedly the burning of carbon fuel, and this world is running on fuel economy. Whether it be OPEC, US, China or India all are eying hydrocarbon fuel some where or other on globe. This all is required to maintain the fuel security so currently I am not foreseeing any kind of halt in this spree. Then comes the other major source, which would be much better considering global warming, that is radioactive fuel. And for our country many more developing countries like us, there are already many stringent conditions to follow before getting some kind of certificate from a group of developed nation.
Every industry produces some kind of pollution, and this pollution in some way or other contributes to the production of green house gases. As our economy is growing our requirements will only see an increment. One of the important decisions which we have to take is before making any sort of choices, because some products require some really nasty process to be manufactured.
I will try to bring spotlight on scientific sense behind global warming and the extent to which we can manage it through our daily life.

Happy Environment day

Forwarded from Orkut Community for global warming
Happy world environment day! 5th june
hi all,

i just hope you all know that today's world environment day.(June 5)

i was just wondering about what else could we all young and creative people do to figt GW and found my restless spirit finding a home in creativity.

just a few ideas this Env day:

1.

Somebody who has a passion for radio jockeying and being a RJ but never got an opportunity, can join together and start an internet radio service.

of course aimed at spreading awareness about GW,it can host songs, hold debates, informing people about marches and processions and petitions ,they can also launch podcasts.

i am interested, but don't know how to do it.

any one does?

2.
Any budding writer out here, and any one who knows to compose music?

You got it?

bingo,we can write some lyrics for a good song and get it composed by some community members.

they can upload their tracks at a common place, they each one can cooridnate and pitch in.

some budding singers can of course sing it and voila! we have our anthem rocking on our own radio station

(these both can be mututually exclusive)

3.

http://kloit.wetpaint.com/

is a wiki that i have started inviting science teachnical people to pitch in and create some innovations to curtail GW.

wanted right now:

mechnical engineers,
biologits or biotechnologists,
civil engineers

all of whom can spend atleast 5 minutes per day on the site.

send me a scrap if your interested.

4.

what about creating a small badge for GW army?

lets call our selves a GW army and design our selves our badges.we'll wear them at least once a week to our offices.

even if 1 out of 100 people ask about it in your office,we get a new member!

let it also have a site address, like www.stopglobalgarming.org

designs are welcome, get it uploaded on net.lets poll and decide in a week.print it out.

laminate it and show it off!

let it be trendy guys!make a fashion statement!

just this for now.

even if you can't do anyting today, plant atleat a tree.

peace,
sameer
<img width='1' govt.,only?

I think until it becomes a concerning issue for all of us,there would be no solution to it.

What concerns me is deep sense of alienation that fills the valley that even the army is against them.

The killing of Kashmiri civilians as "suspected" militants, and the later furore in the valley over missing people,is a proof of this.

For all Army men,as of the latest news, you can keep checking all farmers who will go to the fields in the morning.

But when they don't carry and scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='science'/>
Set minds to motion!

from:flintspark.blogspot.com
hi all!

I was thinking to pose some good questions that occured to me and that might be materialized in the future.

1.Lets build a bamboo microsope.

In the pursuit of taking science to villages,we try to make a bamboo low cost mircoscope.

The only costly thing in it will be the lenses.

The microscope tube as well as the mechanism all will be made up of bamboo, since it is locally available, rough and tough, prevents entry of external light.

The problem is to design the mircoscope's mechanism.

Firstly,it must be able to move the main tube up and down,

next,it must be able to move the lens up and down.Simply put, both coarse and fine adjustments.
also how to attach the lenses with the rim of the bamboo tube.

How will you do it?

2.This is the original idea(i think) of Mr PS Ghose,of National Bal Bhawan.

Why to go on buying a laptop, when you can build it?

I mean, since desktops are now available at about 15000,so why not assemble our desktop on to a small atteche case?(say vip case)

The heating would be one big problem and the bag must be able to close on completion of work.

We shall need to drill out holes of the sides to provide the connection.
It shouldn't have its own power suppy, thats ok.
but it must have its own monitor.and keyboard and mouse and possibly speakers.

then we shall need to provide it with adequate protection from elements. The hard disk needs to be cushioned.

think on it.and gimme an ingenious solution.be descriptive and then lets matertialize.

3.This one is quite funny and is all bout lateral thinking.

What can you hold only with oyu right hand?
Don't answer if oyu already know.

Answers to those who comment.

hugs for a great repulic day,
sameer
<img width='1' height='1' shetty controversy, where she was "allegedly" racially abused by her house mates,in the reality show ,Big Brother.

I have got just 2 things to say:

1.She was called a paki, and then she was not.Was she?Was she not?

We have no way to ascertain this point of racial buse coz neither have we seen the show live or on the TV,neither have we experienced this word before.

We are just going on the fodder that news chanels and papers have fed us.So why to scribble up your mind for something you haven't seen for yourself, you haven't heard for your self?

Remember,Aristotle's three tests?

Also, even when we are convinced that all this has taken place then,it must be the public of Britain that must critisise and not the government of India, which has got many other things to do.

2.We say The Brits are racist. We might even say the Whites are racist. But we are unable to see the enemy within.

Are'nt all of us in Inida racist?

It is well said"jab kisi se koi gila rahkna, samne ayina rakhna."i.e,whenever you have any grudge against anyone, keep a mirror in front of yourself.

We call all Northeast people "Chinkis".All people from south and who are a little dark, are called southys, whether they hail from Tamil Nadu or from Karnataka. We say"yes yes,its the same."

People are bewildered when they see a fair south indian. Why?

Why is it that the sale of fairness creams in India beats any other commodity?
Why do all expect a fair daughter in law,for our sons?

This is a stereotype that needs to be broken first and then we can blame the rest of the world for being racist.
Kill The enemy within before you kill someone outside.
<br Happy Hartal"
For a moment, I could not but laugh out loudly. But an instant later, it no more seemed funny. And it should not either. And for all those who do not understand the signuficance of the sms here's a list of .. well... what should I call it- poltician-declared-public holidays in Kolkata last December onwards: two 12 hour bandhs plus one 24 hours bandh and then one 48 hour bandh for various issues and various poltical parties in 31 days of December and then once again a Bandh on the 8th of January! Okay, and this list doe not include the endless number of processions and things like road blocking.. protest... all that one can think of to disrupt the life of the city and irritate just about everyone!
I understand full well that the issues the parties take up are serious and that they need to be addressed, and its not just one Miss Mamta Banerjee but Bandh is a strategic tool of peaceful mass protest, but then a simple fact is, a bandh is supposed to show that the certain issue has so much support from people that people are going on a strike till their demands are met, but the truth is people do not come out of their houses during bandh- not exactly becaus ethey support the cause or anything but simply because they are scared they might be stopped on their way and they would have to face various troubles and hazards which is not rare either! So its a "forceful" espousing the bandhs demand. And for that matter there is a certain section of the population who are not even aware of why this strike has been called!!
Kolkata's annual calendar has hardly been bandh-free for years now and finally, now that the ruling party is taking steps to curb the number of such abrupt halts... the opposition seems to be reluctant.
I am not a poltical or even social expert... but as a layman- as an young student of both the city and the country, I just want to ask one question- is bandh the only peaceful way to go about it? I only know nothing is absolute, so there must be alternatives. And all I know is, it is high time such alternatives are adopted because there are professions other than POLITICS in the city.. in the country, in which having a 'bandh-day' is neither helpful nor desirable... and there are certain people like daily labourers for whom a day-off implies -a fast.

Something requiring your action

I am sorry to include two simultaneous posts but this is urgent.

I have been trying to get this thing materialized with many organizations but with litte success.
Due to other useless things in life,i haven't been able to take these ideas forward.

I want you to read this and try to materialize it.
A poster of a similar thing in was seen in Singapore.

hugs
sameer

>>Sir,

Sub: Initiation of a programme for the poor for winters.

I appreciate your esteemed organization's role in organizing aids and facilities for the poor.

I have a suggestion of a scheme to make that might be initiated by your organization at a larger scale.

This programme would be to start a collection drive of old, but wearable woolen clothes from all households.

Most of the people do have clothes that are wearable but have either have shrinked for their size or are out of fashion. People are ready to donate such clothes but do not know where to do so.

This calls for your organization to collected such clothes on a massive scale, segregate them into sizes and then distribute them to poor, who do not have any defense against winter.

A similar programme was initiated by a society in Singapore.

I hope that my suggestion would be received and discussed by your society at the latest.

I would appreciate a response or an acknowledgement about the same.

Yours truly,
Sameer Thukral

Theories of plant translocation

Another post form flintspark.blogspot.com
<img style="display:block; This was indeed the case with the Nithari killings. Front pages of nearly every national paper is filled with a piece or two about the new revelations in Nithari case. Let me remind you that this will end pretty soon, and things will back to normality. But before that happens let us admire few people, who are the real, behind the scene people, people who really made this happen, or to say that they allowed this to happen. People who are made this wonderful piece of news which rather became fodder for news mill, for for last few weeks and even for few weeks to come.

Who are they, they are Times person of year, 'YOU'.

YOU, is a great music lover and a obsessive TV viewer, it have a headphone over his head, and eyes fixed on TV, looking for news produced by people like him, other YOU.
Mr. Cannibal was killing, and his victims were so nice that they were ready to be cut in pieces as it was for some divine purpose, thus they did not found any purpose to make some kind of noise. Girls with all respect to their minority were molested, and YOU who were in police saw that as their wish granted.
Mrs. Brinda Karat (don't mistake it as Karait, which is a deadly snake) saw bones in Ramdev's medicines, Mrs <strike>Karait </strike>Karat, people don't require Ramdev for bones, they can churn it from their own mill. Lady <strike>Karait </strike>Karat went to Nithari, but forgot to look the manufacturing process and took that valuable movement to use her jibe instinct.
MONEY:Answer to every problem, is going to be given to every one, whose family lost some one in this incident created by YOU. Probably YOU also wants money, so they allow suc things to happen. Hey but I really dont see any purpose of DNA test, why do you want to check for deceased identity , every one will get money to keep their mouth shut, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav( Soft Lion Yadav) have plenty of it.
Common YOU keep it up,because their is plenty of money with other like YOU. Mechanical vacuums.

This reply will be a bit technical but do excuse me.
Bernoulli's principle as far as I understand is a clever restatement of the law of coservation of energy. Hence I will proceed with conservation of energy itself to check the feasibility of a mechanical vacuum.

Let us consider that the vacuum has a circular cross section nozzle with a radius of 1 cm.
A standard vacuum generates 20kPa pressure difference between outside and inside.
By Bernoulli's principle,
(1/2)*d*v^2 = (P2-P1)
Thus, v = 180 m/sec
Now, Power = (energy)/time = ((1/2)*m*v^2)/t = (1/2) *d*A*v^3
= (1/2)*(pi*(o.o1^2))*1.2*180^3 = 1100 watts
Assuming a modest efficiency for the mechanics at 50%.
Total input power = 2200 watts.
Power output of a human being working hard physically = 500 watts.
Hence I would tend to believe this is not feasible.

NOTES :
d= 1.2 kg/ m^3......density of dry air.
Standard data such as pressure diff. in vacuums and output of a human courtesy Wikipedia.

2. Mission to the moon

Construction of moon bases is not as easy as it seems.
NASA's press release though impressive, I believe is over optimistic.
The ISS which is one thirtieth the distance to the moon remains incomplete inspite of regular shuttle flight and the co-operation of 16 countries. In this context it is highly improbable that a habitable base on the moon will be built within the next 50 yrs. Chandrayan has a more modest completion date i.e. by 2008.

More importantly if robots are to be sent than a moon base itself is irrelevant. The robot will survive of solar power and will explore when it is fully charged. Why would we need a moon base.

- By Zero.

P.S.
The last post on the moon issue was by me. Didn't realize my name wouldn't show up.

Misson on moon.

I wrote a post before about the proposed manned mission on moon from India and a score of other nations. Then I told that there are few better options, rather than going for a manned mission on moon, and India should place a larger picture for the global audience. After all such things are just to show your international poweress.
NASA is now trying to make a permanent station on either of the poles of moon. It could have been ISRO's idea, if I would have been working with them. Yes it will take much more money than sending a man or two to the moon. But hey sending such rockets is not a monthly business, rather in many cases its a life time opportunity. So, tax more and make a thing which we can call The First. Moreover, to me, its a far better idea to set up a permanent station on moon, though not human, but robotic(NASA are going for manned station and I am not ready to pay that much tax).
It would certainly be working there for much more time than a human can work. And if some one tells me that India is not that good in robotics then I would like to remind them that Indian is possible to do any thing in a time span which is unimaginable by many others. We can easily develop robotics, more over this is era of multinational activities.

You can read my previous article here.
And a follow-up by my friend here.

Youth Against AIDS.

Today I am happy, very happy that I have materialized one of my old dream, a truly social site against HIV, that too free of cost. I thought about it in summer last year, then now nearly after year and half, when I am deep in social blogging, after materializing few of my other projects suddenly this old idea of mine struck me once again on another World AIDS Day. I dont know weather this idea of mine is unique or not, it doesn't matter, the thing which matter is that we will need lot of people, that to youth to mobilize whole world against AIDS.
So <span style="font-weight: bold; On the IST they use a Canada Arm and I assure you, they dont come cheap. Most indegionous robotics would find it hard to remotely hammer a nail.

India as of now only has the capacity to launch Polar sattelites with certainty (2 successive GSLV tests have failed). Polar orbits are a complicated matter and the region is crowded with many sattelites (space traffic if u like). There is no way to launch an enormous survellaince net without causing global tension.

Currently a profitable proposition would be surveying the moon for minerals.

In conclusion sending an Indian to the moon may not be woth the money but sending a robot and producing truly original work, certainly would not be a lot easier.

Suggestions for better democracy.

Crazy, you can all me, but I won't shy away from proposing some constitutional change or to say a demand for better performance of our central government. I recently read, which many of you would have read, that India is one the failed democracies, though I don't buy there vision and neither there methodology, but still there are many things which can be improved to make ours a better democracy. One of them I think, which I am proposing over here is as follows:
Every party which is going to run for say minimum of 300 seats out of some 550+ seats in Lok Sabha elections, should before election declare there prime-minister candidate. And those who are in no position to nominate there PM candidate, which means that they are running for less than 300 seats, have to before hand support any of the Prime minister candidate. It would certainly tell us the people a clear picture of future, and thus make it easy to select candidate of our region. It will thus make parties answerable to public beforehand. It must also be made necessary for every candidate to (on there own money) publish their biodata in at least 2 popular local dailies.
I also feel that there must be some legal paper signed just like contracts between two parties before an alliance, which should be made public, and this must be done before election, so that people who vote should have a clear picture of parties and people for whom they are going to vote. This will avoid development of any future crap. And a much stable democratic structure. I think we should make democracy for our need and should break away from a highly borrowed up democratic system. India is a very unique nation, which absorbed democracy like no other nation that too after long autocratic rule. If any person comes up and say that India is failure in terms of a democracy then I would ask him to visit India, a nation of such a magnum opus society, with such a variety of cultures available, and with a very long history.
These are few potpourri views, which will only work better if reviewed by many others. So I will love to read comments on it.

A new addition...

So many others have joined the roost. But if any one of you want to post some thing under a different agreement they you are free to do so, but please don't forget to mention it in bolds. I with my sincere heart would appreciate if you follow the open source regime, but I also agree that few things just cant be kept open source, so be it.
We Indians from long time have followed the regime of open source, this can be seen from the number of effective patents against over names. Jokes apart, here we are and now looking towards a much brighter future.
_____________________________________________________________________
Another addition to mention, again look towards your right and scroll down. Pretty nice isnt it. Hindi Chini Pakistani bhai bhai on moon. Bull s#!t.
There is one fact that I know, US gained far less things on moon from Neil Armstrong then they are gaining from Mars Roover. Be intelligent, this is no cold war era, there is no need to prove any thing.
I would, as all ways give kattak suggestions.

Invest money on detective satellites, for global surveillance. I am sure you have heard about the violent civil war in my country, some years ago.
My father, King Waritashatiklikosobrutanajiginomoha was the leader of the Krutsoshimenahaligoropisbenatasha Army (also known as the Royal Guard). Sadly, he was killed while making a brave attempt to sneak up from behind on an evil enemy general and slip a grenade down his shirt. Alas, the evil general (known to all in Zwazeitrangapultu as 'Average Joe' -- a strange term, yes, but it makes him sound very, very bad...which he is) survived. Soon after my father's demise, Average Joe overthrew the Krutsoshimenahaligoropisbenatasha regime and came to power in the summer of 1969. I was but a child then and those were the worst days of my life. I was sent in exile to a strange land whose name I cannot pronounce (but this is how it is spelled -- HARLEMNEWYORK) and the Royal Hut, the family residence since the last eight hundred years (or maybe eighty...I can't remember which) was taken over by Average Joe. He was searching for my fortune --- which I have with me here in Harlemnewyork --- of seven hundred antelope-skulls. Even today he continues to search. His agents are all over the world. It is only a matter of some time before they find me. Even in Harlemnewyork I am not safe -- all the residents look like my countrymen and everyone looks at me with strange eyes and makes signs of raised middle-fingers, when they see me counting my treasure which I carry with me wherever I go. I think I am being warned. Therefore I have an urgent need of finding safekeeping for my wealth. I have absolutely no idea who you are and have never met you in my entire life. I therefore feel you are a very trustworthy person whom I can have complete faith in. Would you want a share of my fortune? I know you would. No sane person -- and you are a most sane person -- would turn down my generous offer: <!-- D(["mb","
In exchange for keeping my fortune safe, I will give to you 3% of it -- twenty-one skulls of Zwazeitrangapultudian antelopes.
