attended for some time and was taking interest more than us..so we
packed him off;)
Dr.Faiyaz discussed a whole lot of technical and practical issues.
What i learnt was that environment and economics cannot be separate.
we need to think from both these point of views.also we can try to
manipulate data of staitistics to make our point clearer to
unknoweldgeable ppl.

He tried doing so to stop ppl of a village from killing the gecko
lizrds found in the surroundings.he said that this creature ate the
germs of TB.and since this one animal was killed, there would be
pandemic in the village soon...point made, whatever might be the way.

Comment - Comment

No, no this is no new article, it is just to inform you all( if your computer gets infected by a virus which makes this blog your default homepage; reason of you coming here), that Sameer and I are playing a very interesting game, name of the game, Comment comment.
Its very simple, we just write about something or other, just to eat up the mighty servers of Google placed somewhere in Mountain View, California (hunch), and then write comments, yes comments...on each others post...isnt it interesting. It is mighty interesting...I am telling you.
Just play it to know the joys of playing it.

Some times I feel like this while I write an article or something...

Wall, Wall behind the Wall,
Who has got most time of all!

And answer...I hope you know.

Buddy...We all are capitalist!

WTF is socialism? Oh yaa...(I had to open 10th std. Civics book to find the definition), but I am not going to waste my time quoting it, rather send you here. Do I hate socialism, I dont know but yes I would have loved it if Jessica Alba would have been in Red brigade, and Peta would have been under some Red agenda( I hope you understand). By the way, do you consider your self a socialist kind of person or a capitalist kind of person? I on record, yes on record consider myself a CAPITALIST kind of person.
I have my own reasons for it, prominently there are two, first being, I hate giving my ice cream to others, second I like to eat ice creams on another's money. These are two fundamental rules of capitalism, told no where. Enjoy your profits, try not to invest your money. Socialism is all skewed, if I would have been socialist then, I would not be eating ice cream on first part since I can not avail it for few beggars who roam outside Ice cream parlor, second, if I had to eat one, then I had to invest my money, and try that it should be enough for everyone around. So I using few ounce of my brain fluid have come to conclusion that 'I am capitalist'.
Human, though we can fight over it is an animal( few of my friends do not agree over it...they want to put 'social' before animal) we survived for such a long time because we fought for our food from the animals which were much stronger than us, from nature which was most of the time against us. We are still same, though now we call us civilized, and under this pressure of being civilized we pegged social before animal. All the great discoveries (off the record) were made for cynical reasons, and not for some social reasons. To make social discoveries and inventions you have to be a really great person, which by nature we are not. But to be popular you have to have an social agenda behind your innovation...now you have got two options, first become a great person and then make a social innovation, second, be a normal person, make a capitalist discovery and prove it that it is was social concern which prompted you for that discovery/invention/innovation, which by far is the easiest way.
This whole world is a part of some or the other kind of pyramid, where you eat ( both real and virtual) someone and someone eats you, and still few people wants to prove that socialism is basic property of humanity, bull ****. Some may argue that, its capitalism, due to which we are facing various demons of this modern era, like Global Warming, AIDS, Poverty and etc etc...I say NO its all because of what so ever amount of socialism percolated in our society. If it would have been (PURE)capitalism, then after creating lots and lots pollution, one would have not bothered to clean it up and would have left the place itself and would have given nature a chance to clean itself, but under socialism, you stick to the place citing social reasons, and try to do the job which you are totally unfit to do. AIDS can only be solved by the arms of capitalism, let the big companies make the vaccines, and then if they dont get ready to give you for cheap, ban them, which company in its normal mind would like to be out of a nation which have a ever growing population of HIV infected population.
Raam, on the beach of Rameshwaram, tried to be social, wasted his time, and finally resorted to capitalism...Capital Punishment...it worked.
To sum it all, one must use socialism as a tool of capitalism rather than something which is against capitalism. In ice cream analogy, spend some money on ice cream, eat it in front of poor, and inspire them (if any such thing happens) to have that ice cream, inspire them to use this capitalist world and get their very own cup of ice cream.

Ice cream for everyone...

Mindful Curry

So jee sirjees and madam jees, what do you think this article will contain?

i am still pondering over what to write and what not to,but then i decide to write about what you and i are doing right now.

thinking.

and just add a prefix before that, make that creative thinking.

As we all sit in our classes, muging up formulas, batalling assignents(and sometimes teachers),fighting for study material and notes, the aspect of our youthful minds that takes its toll,is thinking.

We are most of the times supposed to do what others are doing, and sometimes when we are supossed to do what we think,we don't get the time to think enough.

So what to do.
Simple,let your mind run amock.

Here are the various stratergies(a nice word i picked up from english news channels during the cricket season) which i sometimes employ during my waking hours, while doing the normal course of work.

One of the best ways to create something new is the think about the phrase "what next?".

For example, sitting in my physics class, there was a discussion on polarizers and cameras.i added "what next?".

The phrase became something like this:black and white pics, coloured pics, digicams, what next?

I asked some ppl,and the replies where surely creative.A hand held 3d camera.

The thinking might have been made earlier, but still something new from the ordinary.

do something like this, telephones, mobile phones, what next?
holophrapic 3d veiwers.

electronic meters,auto rickshaw meters,what next?
cycle rickshaw meters, mechanical or non mechanical, but non tamperable.

Things like these might be present, but then they surely do give you a new idea.As you think more about an idea, the better picture you get about it.

If your answer is something thats very very common, just add some adjective to it.like making things or processes cheap, available to all, locally used materials.

like,telescope,microscope,what next?
i say microscope, with the bamboo poles which are hollow.

i know this article is stretching far beyond its permitted length, but please, bull and bear with us.

The next approach, thats possible,is using problems.
like, just pick out a person from among the crowd, and think what problem would he be facing?

lets take global warming.
take biotech and add.

you get some protein capable of splitting water, releasing
hydrogen by hydrolysis, the economy turns from fossil fuel based to hydrogen fuel based.hydrogen gas, free and simple.

take counter strike.
take electronics,and add.
you get some devices fitted on the caps which act as detectors for lasers(LDR circuit etc.).

you use lasers on guns for firing.with some appropriate arragnement get some thing for scoring, and covert college campus into unreal tournamnet playground.

add biotech and air conditioning.(bacteria's cooling air?)

add biotech and fireflies.(proteins emmiting light transplanted into plants)

add electronics and pens(a pen that scans and prints too, ideal for copying from books into notebooks)

so just take a problem and add something to it to get something..well in the first and idea and then something concrete.

10 ideas you get,2 implemented,1 clicks.

Keep thinking,till i think..

what next?

You, Me and Energy.

Energy Disparity

____________ = k < = >Energy = Carbon(k)

Carbon Disparity

This blog off late was very focused on my creative stint with literature, and not so on my technological overviews. To say, you can remove Kartik from science, but not science from Kartik, so be it. One more thing which I would like to tell is that its examination season here, and my next exam which by any measure is very important, is all about energy, ecology, environment and society. This subject is somehow responsible for my this post, but the thing which really launched me to my computer chair was the Global economic summit, or something like that(forgot the name).

Not discussing much about the summit and coming back on the topic of energy and carbon, I think the formula I mentioned is very much clear even to the one who is not well versed with mathematics...( you still need to know the basics). Explaining it, its nothing but proving that carbon produced at present as we very well know is directly proportional to the amount energy used ( Here k is the carbon constant). World though globalised is yet not fair and equal, and it starts with energy and ends on carbon. There is a wide gap in per capita energy need between a resident of a developing nation and the one in developed nation. This some how as discussed accordingly is, translates into the carbon disparity. Energy diparity cn be directly linked to the development of a nation, and so can be the pollution. Reason being that with the present technologies which are very much dependent on carbon for energy, the more you use them, the more they will lead to the carbon production. We are having options but the options are either still under scientific domain, or are only in the reach of the rich.

Focusing on India, which is still beating its wings to get into the league of developed nations, is in a very trivial state. Since being a nation under the lime light due to its current economic growth, it is being asked to check its carbon emission and on the other hand, as it is not a developed nation, facing problems of electricity shortage is in dire need of energy, which means more production of carbon. Though due to this very reason India enjoys a very significant position in the market of Carbon credit, but we in no normal logic can undermine India's energy needs. India being on the leaner side of carbon production can cash on the international carbon credit policy, but the question remains for how long.

Development with itself bring various advantages, and one of them is being a first. This position is being still enjoyed by various nations. Lesser you are developed more the chains are around you. I am not hoping for sudden open sourcing in technology as it will mar the profits of being the first, so this brings India and nations on similar ground to become first. They have to somehow work in the manner so that they can remain on the profitable side of carbon economy and also on the healthier side of energy economy. We can not deny that the call of present is to save the globe from global warming, but we can also not deny from the fact that this whole scenario which includes carbon, energy, global warming is a rut. As it is with any kind of rut, you need to do some thing extra ordinary to come out of it. Demand of present is some extensive research in the fields of energy, and if it requires some global technological collaboration then on nation should not shy from that, this applies to developed and developing alike. Money is a sure lure, but to have a better world we need to have a much bigger goal and that is global sustainability. If we will survive for longer duration, I am sure there will be more options for earning money for all the people alike. Lets keep few things out of the money vision binoculars, and one of them has to be energy, and other can always be AIDS.

Blogging on a blog which is not read by many is in many ways similar to talking in front of a magical wall. You never know when you may utter that special word and the whole new world of different prospects and dimensions open up for you. This is my second attempt in last few days to try and utter few words to attain the Blogging Utopia. Frankly speaking I have nothing much to write, since its exam time, when most of the people look for hermitage in their books, I on other hand look for other things which would give me a different perspective and once again clean my mental black board so that I can study again. To mention, this blog post is neither about how should we blog and advantages and disadvantages of blogging nor is it about how I study during examination time.
This post is more...something more...its about Examination. Wherever I am crawling on net, I am seeing posted comments which are telling about the global horror of exams. Have any one of ever gave a thought that if Exams have to attain a physical or for that some meta physical shape and body then what it would look like? Spare a thought that is there a nation where there are no examination. We as students must have wasted many hours on debating about our education system, an examinations, so I am not going to reinvent wheel for you. I am in another realm altogether at present manner. I am thinking of giving Examination a shape. What it should be like....
Ahh... I am having a vision...(since this is examination season, we are very close to it...we can feel its presence on our bed, near our table...everywhere)
Its a kind of a elf...yes without any doubt. But we can not decide whether its a dark or light elf. (I for some reasons prefer Yaksha, more than elf...but since JRRT and many others didnt knew about them...so for common people like you and me, it has to be elf) They are beautiful, scented, and promising in their feel, they give you dreams, then enter in your dreams, and can play games with your psyche. Exam elf offers you great deal of promises and rewards if you start working for his purpose, but none is there to see when you reach the pre-stated point. Elf is gone, scent is nowhere to smell. Only bad dreams remains like a curse of elf, your fear surmounts your whole body, because the elf has put you in the result trance. I previously stated that one can not be sure whether Exam elf is a dark or light elf, because if you deny to follow what it is telling you then it starts bothering you in manners never dealt before in life. Your parents are few of the easy target of the elvish powers, it starts controlling your parents brain, and in this way tries to dominate your instinct to oppose its greater cause. Have you ever spared a thought about the possible greater cause of this Exam elf...its to throw us back to the well of world, and stop us to achieve higher knowledge, to know more about yourself. Once you will get that knowledge, you will be in the zone where no elvish( so small) powers will be able to reach you.
I dont know, how this elvish breed got so much space in this world, how it got into the brains of selected few, who sat at the top level. From eons, these elves have been successful in what they want, to throw us away from the path of ultimate knowledge....
I have to cut it short....sorry mates...dears...some how the Exam elf of my house got that I am writing against him. My mom is under his powers...I have to go...to sit for his cause...

Sorry I

Madder than the Maddest cow...

Cow is integral part of Indian psyche. Cow have two ears, one tail, two beautiful eyes...do you wish to read the essay on cow...
Your wish granted, I am not going to write that.
My point is to bring your attention, on cows. Cutting across religions, classes, sects and all, we some how pay great respect to these creatures. Wonderful they are, intelligent they are, but still we dont have some Cowgirl(with super powers) so as to celebrate the cow culture in India. I can see, so can you, Cows which are so very important are not being treated as they should be, they are not enjoying the amount of respect which they should. What are they getting against their calm demeanor, they are being thrown out of cities...I am angry. I firmly believe that they should not be treated the ways humans are treated in our country, because humans are treated in mighty bad way. They deserve much higher level of respect and rights. They should have their very own meadows, where they can move freely and do what ever they can. And yes, there should not be any moral policing. And if some cow, among the new generation of free cows, rais some voice and write something against the old cowhood, then no one should release some fatwa against her. This nation needs freer cows, because we have not been able to provide the freedom which we though to humans. Since cows are regarded as hostel of all the Gods, so how can we not provide them freedom. Every cow, for that matter bulls also, should be allowed to shit the place the want in their Utopian meadow...come on its their creative freedom.
I personally am very inspired by the way cows behave and also with their punctuality, they always come at nearly same time for the small roti which my mom makes fot them. I am telling you that if these wonderful animals one day decide that hey deserve much more freedom than what we are giving them then its going to be a bad day...no coffees no teas no milk nothing. If they release fatwa and decide that they are not going to do any thing for the society, then from where are we going to have our new wisdom. Cows have from long and we can even go to terming it as immemorial time been very peaceful, lemme tell you, if they now decide to go the other way then you know what it can cause...
Lets give cows some freedom...Please...no fatwas....no killing...no over milking...we need more and more healthy cows for having a healthier nation.

After Effects of reading this article...
  1. You are looking for your footwear so as to go out and help the cow.
  2. THE COW in you is alive again.
  3. You are madder than the maddest cow, and looking for the opportunities to meet me...
  4. You didnt understood a word of what I have written and now you feel that I am living too close to cows.

As I always say....Feel free to comment.

Cricket Crazy

This is not a forward. The veiws mentioned below belong to the
undersigned author, therefore any brickbats and abuses may be directly emailed to
him.

Cricket crazy!

Chak de India...Chak de India...the rhyme and the songs goes on since
India won the final match against Pakistan,on that red lettered day of
24th september.

T-20,as the name goes, had had its effect. The format was
shorter, peppier and had dancers dancing for supporting each boundary.

ICC it seems has learned how to make the game much more interesting.

But lets think how to make the game even more interesting, inspired by
our famous gully games.

Here's what'll happen if the game is now based on the new format of gully games:

1.There shall be nothing as teams. The captains will "tip top" their
way to decide.

2.No toss for batting first. The team who brings the bat and/or the
wicket shall bat first.

3.Every over shall be begin with a try ball.

4.There are no runs for back..simply to say "back ke runs nahi hain".

5.The cricketer, whose home is near to the stadium will bring water for all.

6.The order of bowlers or batsmen will be decided by "pukai" or as
some people say as "pukam pukai".
The standard code to be followed will be "teen ka tala band".

7.If any new player joins the team for that match,he will be given the
first den...sorry the first opportunity to bowl.So to say "nayee ghodi
nayee chaal".

8.Hitting fours is ok.Hitting, sixes within the roped boundary is
ok.Hitting sixes into the stands is ok.But if the six is out of the
ground...the player is out!

9.If a bowler does not bowl well,he's given a "baby over" of
3 balls.

10.And the best one...!Direct catches are allowed, but to the ease of
fielders, now even "one tip one hand" is also allowed!

I hope those who have played plenty of gully games would be very happy
for the implementation of these rules.

And by the way,the idea of cheer leaders cheering on boundaries was
also taken from India only, where in Mumbai there's a dancing beer
bar,next to the stadium.

Cheers,
sameer

Global Warming, and its chilling.

I would like to put two things straight,
  1. Hail Sameer, who is just like a spark plug which never forget to ignite.
  2. I drive on comments, more comments I get, more easy it would be for me to write.

Now coming to the topic of global warming, though I was not invited to G8 or G5 summit and am not seeing and upcoming chances to be there with those decision makers. One thing is quite clear, they are not going to make great deal of change. Yesterday there was an article in Times of India, which stated that America have money to invest in every xyz research but not in the fields related to Global Warming and modeling. And things aren't going to be simple any time soon. There are many reasons, and most of them are related to economics and politics. I am no Guru in either of them but understands one simple thing that is PROFIT, and Global Warming is going to bring more and more profit.

Political Sense

America is in no mood to cut its emission, and probably it can not, for few very simple reasons, that there is huge political pressure on White House from industrial lobby, which is very strong in US. I haven't been to US, but one simple thing from which I have this inference, is the number of years for which American Industry is standing. For India it is not more than 60 to 70 years, and for them there industrial history dates back to nearly 200 years or so. And in 200 years and for a nation which plays a very dominant part in international politics, any sort of industry will have its windows in political system.
And as America is in no mood to cut down in emission norms and Mr Bush's feeling that the onus to cut emission of green house gases are on India and China. I am not hoping from something great from EU. And as the Big Daddies are not going to hold their barrels down, the aspiring Big Daddies (G5), are going to follow the suite. This means that we are not going to see and major bill passed in US senate, and this in turns also negates a possibility of a bill being passes in Lok Sabha, or even proposed for that matter. While the meant time we will continue feeding on American Media which will keep on reporting about Paris Hilton and about Brangellina and sometimes (rarest of rare) about few outdated models of global warming.
By the way I really did not likes Paris Hilton's sobbing photo. And Oh yes, she was not crying for the sentence she got, but for the terrible failure of the recently held G8 summit which was focused on GLOBAL WARMING.

Economical Sense

Now come to the economics of every thing related to global warming. Economics is the wheel on which runs politics. You name me a thing and I will tell you that it is in some way or other adding to the global warming. And this just do not limits to the non living things but to the living beings too. I was thinking of adding another topic, like Scientific sense but wont be able to do that as I am already under sever time crunch, my exams are running, so I have to run. One of the major reason behind global warming is undoubtedly the burning of carbon fuel, and this world is running on fuel economy. Whether it be OPEC, US, China or India all are eying hydrocarbon fuel some where or other on globe. This all is required to maintain the fuel security so currently I am not foreseeing any kind of halt in this spree. Then comes the other major source, which would be much better considering global warming, that is radioactive fuel. And for our country many more developing countries like us, there are already many stringent conditions to follow before getting some kind of certificate from a group of developed nation.
Every industry produces some kind of pollution, and this pollution in some way or other contributes to the production of green house gases. As our economy is growing our requirements will only see an increment. One of the important decisions which we have to take is before making any sort of choices, because some products require some really nasty process to be manufactured.
I will try to bring spotlight on scientific sense behind global warming and the extent to which we can manage it through our daily life.

Happy Environment day

Forwarded from Orkut Community for global warming
Happy world environment day! 5th june
hi all,

i just hope you all know that today's world environment day.(June 5)

i was just wondering about what else could we all young and creative people do to figt GW and found my restless spirit finding a home in creativity.

just a few ideas this Env day:

1.

Somebody who has a passion for radio jockeying and being a RJ but never got an opportunity, can join together and start an internet radio service.

of course aimed at spreading awareness about GW,it can host songs, hold debates, informing people about marches and processions and petitions ,they can also launch podcasts.

i am interested, but don't know how to do it.

any one does?

2.
Any budding writer out here, and any one who knows to compose music?

You got it?

bingo,we can write some lyrics for a good song and get it composed by some community members.

they can upload their tracks at a common place, they each one can cooridnate and pitch in.

some budding singers can of course sing it and voila! we have our anthem rocking on our own radio station

(these both can be mututually exclusive)

3.

http://kloit.wetpaint.com/

is a wiki that i have started inviting science teachnical people to pitch in and create some innovations to curtail GW.

wanted right now:

mechnical engineers,
biologits or biotechnologists,
civil engineers

all of whom can spend atleast 5 minutes per day on the site.

send me a scrap if your interested.

4.

what about creating a small badge for GW army?

lets call our selves a GW army and design our selves our badges.we'll wear them at least once a week to our offices.

even if 1 out of 100 people ask about it in your office,we get a new member!

let it also have a site address, like www.stopglobalgarming.org

designs are welcome, get it uploaded on net.lets poll and decide in a week.print it out.

laminate it and show it off!

let it be trendy guys!make a fashion statement!

just this for now.

even if you can't do anyting today, plant atleat a tree.

peace,
sameer

Anybody awake?

it really bothers me,where are the other members of this site.

are they all busy with their exams?or have they suffered a computer crash?
it's making me curious and worried.Have they taken the blue pill,or the red pill?

Please guys lets not make this blog a monlogue.no not even a dialogue.
lets make it a multilougue.

Some of the latest things,(read one liners) that are bothering my exam torutred mind right now are:

1.Selling a client, your software product,is like giving your product for free, but still being haggled for a lower price.

2.Meregers are simply big fish eating small fish, after giving them insurance.

3.Affrimative action simply means giving pink slips with employment exchange numbers on the back.

Well,i don't necessarily subscribe to these views, but i am just posting them,to continue my monologue.

Anybody awake?

A tribute to the original linguists

Ever wondered from where do the gracious words like fundoo, todu, fodu, rapchick, dhaakad and many others come from.

I think i just came across the source, the fountains of such words.

They are simply you and me,but rewinded a few years backwards. For some it will be rewinded many years backwards.

They are children below the ages of 5,at their creative best.

When i listen to such children calling,a computer, adum.
When i listen to such children calling, sleep, nina.
calling pen,mann.nature's call,chicha.
going to lu,as su.
calling nani,nun.calling food,khau.
calling chewing food as kattu kattu.
water,mum.

calling opening something(kholna),as lolo.
calling sitting down(beutho),as te to.
anything which is double,as tutu.

And another calling rain as appa mum mum.
and yet another calling loo,as vivi.

And the most amazing children singing,Bulla ki jaana main kaun,by Rabbi Shergil,

as "Bulla se shana(smarter) kaun?"

i am forced to think, who the real balshrees are!

Think about them too!

Hi!

It has been a lull on the blog for quite a while so i thought why not convert this lull to the lull before a storm.

What i simply want to focus is on the Kashmir issue concerning the govt.

Concerning the govt.,only?

I think until it becomes a concerning issue for all of us,there would be no solution to it.

What concerns me is deep sense of alienation that fills the valley that even the army is against them.

The killing of Kashmiri civilians as "suspected" militants, and the later furore in the valley over missing people,is a proof of this.

For all Army men,as of the latest news, you can keep checking all farmers who will go to the fields in the morning.

But when they don't carry and weapons and are surely not militants, give them a big hug and say sorry to them.Show them that what you do is for their benefit only and for their safety only.

Peace,
sameer

Set minds to motion!

from:flintspark.blogspot.com
hi all!

I was thinking to pose some good questions that occured to me and that might be materialized in the future.

1.Lets build a bamboo microsope.

In the pursuit of taking science to villages,we try to make a bamboo low cost mircoscope.

The only costly thing in it will be the lenses.

The microscope tube as well as the mechanism all will be made up of bamboo, since it is locally available, rough and tough, prevents entry of external light.

The problem is to design the mircoscope's mechanism.

Firstly,it must be able to move the main tube up and down,

next,it must be able to move the lens up and down.Simply put, both coarse and fine adjustments.
also how to attach the lenses with the rim of the bamboo tube.

How will you do it?

2.This is the original idea(i think) of Mr PS Ghose,of National Bal Bhawan.

Why to go on buying a laptop, when you can build it?

I mean, since desktops are now available at about 15000,so why not assemble our desktop on to a small atteche case?(say vip case)

The heating would be one big problem and the bag must be able to close on completion of work.

We shall need to drill out holes of the sides to provide the connection.
It shouldn't have its own power suppy, thats ok.
but it must have its own monitor.and keyboard and mouse and possibly speakers.

then we shall need to provide it with adequate protection from elements. The hard disk needs to be cushioned.

think on it.and gimme an ingenious solution.be descriptive and then lets matertialize.

3.This one is quite funny and is all bout lateral thinking.

What can you hold only with oyu right hand?
Don't answer if oyu already know.

Answers to those who comment.

hugs for a great repulic day,
sameer

Racist?Who,we?

Hi all!

This comment can be taken in regard to the shilpa shetty controversy, where she was "allegedly" racially abused by her house mates,in the reality show ,Big Brother.

I have got just 2 things to say:

1.She was called a paki, and then she was not.Was she?Was she not?

We have no way to ascertain this point of racial buse coz neither have we seen the show live or on the TV,neither have we experienced this word before.

We are just going on the fodder that news chanels and papers have fed us.So why to scribble up your mind for something you haven't seen for yourself, you haven't heard for your self?

Remember,Aristotle's three tests?

Also, even when we are convinced that all this has taken place then,it must be the public of Britain that must critisise and not the government of India, which has got many other things to do.

2.We say The Brits are racist. We might even say the Whites are racist. But we are unable to see the enemy within.

Are'nt all of us in Inida racist?

It is well said"jab kisi se koi gila rahkna, samne ayina rakhna."i.e,whenever you have any grudge against anyone, keep a mirror in front of yourself.

We call all Northeast people "Chinkis".All people from south and who are a little dark, are called southys, whether they hail from Tamil Nadu or from Karnataka. We say"yes yes,its the same."

People are bewildered when they see a fair south indian. Why?

Why is it that the sale of fairness creams in India beats any other commodity?
Why do all expect a fair daughter in law,for our sons?

This is a stereotype that needs to be broken first and then we can blame the rest of the world for being racist.
Kill The enemy within before you kill someone outside.

(consider this as an echo from Barha Dutt's Editorial in HT)

I am not panic.

Nothing is idle, nothing dynamic.
What is moving, is certainly not sonic.
Its catastrophe, fall of apocalypse
Her beauty,
I am taking deep breath, am not panic.

What shall I move, what shall I stall,
When I am blind, like a bird in jar.
Its time when everybody is crying.
Her beauty,
I am taking deep breath, am not panic.

Every body dies,
Gas chambers were not needed.
Neither bombs, nor planes.
It was you and me who did it.
Her beauty, with no head on shoulder, no arms to hold…
I am taking deep breath, am not panic.

Still original, kT

Okkie dokkie.. I am not saying that this is best from me, but still I liked it after I finished it. What say...Comments are invited.

Happy Hartal!!!

The other day I recieved a forwarded SMS from a friend of mine with the following message:
" English man subha uthkar bolta hain-Good morning.
Hindu says : Suprabhatam
Muslim: Salam
but aj kal subha uthkar Mamta Banerjee Bolti hai: aj bangala bandh hai...!! Happy Hartal"
For a moment, I could not but laugh out loudly. But an instant later, it no more seemed funny. And it should not either. And for all those who do not understand the signuficance of the sms here's a list of .. well... what should I call it- poltician-declared-public holidays in Kolkata last December onwards: two 12 hour bandhs plus one 24 hours bandh and then one 48 hour bandh for various issues and various poltical parties in 31 days of December and then once again a Bandh on the 8th of January! Okay, and this list doe not include the endless number of processions and things like road blocking.. protest... all that one can think of to disrupt the life of the city and irritate just about everyone!
I understand full well that the issues the parties take up are serious and that they need to be addressed, and its not just one Miss Mamta Banerjee but Bandh is a strategic tool of peaceful mass protest, but then a simple fact is, a bandh is supposed to show that the certain issue has so much support from people that people are going on a strike till their demands are met, but the truth is people do not come out of their houses during bandh- not exactly becaus ethey support the cause or anything but simply because they are scared they might be stopped on their way and they would have to face various troubles and hazards which is not rare either! So its a "forceful" espousing the bandhs demand. And for that matter there is a certain section of the population who are not even aware of why this strike has been called!!
Kolkata's annual calendar has hardly been bandh-free for years now and finally, now that the ruling party is taking steps to curb the number of such abrupt halts... the opposition seems to be reluctant.
I am not a poltical or even social expert... but as a layman- as an young student of both the city and the country, I just want to ask one question- is bandh the only peaceful way to go about it? I only know nothing is absolute, so there must be alternatives. And all I know is, it is high time such alternatives are adopted because there are professions other than POLITICS in the city.. in the country, in which having a 'bandh-day' is neither helpful nor desirable... and there are certain people like daily labourers for whom a day-off implies -a fast.

Something requiring your action

I am sorry to include two simultaneous posts but this is urgent.

I have been trying to get this thing materialized with many organizations but with litte success.
Due to other useless things in life,i haven't been able to take these ideas forward.

I want you to read this and try to materialize it.
A poster of a similar thing in was seen in Singapore.

hugs
sameer

>>Sir,

Sub: Initiation of a programme for the poor for winters.

I appreciate your esteemed organization's role in organizing aids and facilities for the poor.

I have a suggestion of a scheme to make that might be initiated by your organization at a larger scale.

This programme would be to start a collection drive of old, but wearable woolen clothes from all households.

Most of the people do have clothes that are wearable but have either have shrinked for their size or are out of fashion. People are ready to donate such clothes but do not know where to do so.

This calls for your organization to collected such clothes on a massive scale, segregate them into sizes and then distribute them to poor, who do not have any defense against winter.

A similar programme was initiated by a society in Singapore.

I hope that my suggestion would be received and discussed by your society at the latest.

I would appreciate a response or an acknowledgement about the same.

Yours truly,
Sameer Thukral

Theories of plant translocation

Another post form flintspark.blogspot.com

Being a student of life sciences also,it is inevitable fo me to include some talk and theories of life sciences.

Firstly,

What i need is a physical application in form of a product of device which uses this phenomenon.

It has been shown by Henry Dixon, that the accent of sap and water to the leaves from the roots is only due to 3 reasons:

1.The transpirational pull
As water evaporates from the leaves of the plant, there is a suction created by this action resulting in a pull drom the roots.
You can also see this by taking a porus pot and gluing a tube filled of water to it,the tube dipped in a jar of water. As the water evaporates, the water level in the tube rises.

This is how water rises to trees even over 100m in height.

2.Cohesion and Adhesion.
The water molecules are cohesed(attracted) to each other forming a continuous column of water.they also are adhesed(attracted) to the xylem vessel(a thin tube) in the plant.

Since xylem vessels are thin, they help in conduction of water in small plants by cappliarity(passive asscent of liquid in a thin tube).

3.Root pressure

The water molecules surounding the root are very much eager to enter the root(due to less water potential in the root).
Thus the root exerts a pressure towards the water in the xylem vessel.

To check this out,cut a potted plant above the root at any place.Sap will exude out of it.

My question is:Is there an device required or already made that works on these principles?

I propose,a motor less water escaltion system to fill up your overhead water tanks. But it doesn't seem plausible.

You can ask it if you don't understand any point.

But if you have understood, start thinking.

Hugs for a great brainstorm,
sameer

Nithari Cannibal

Cannibalism, is not a common phenomenon, but is one thing which raises too many eyebrows, or shrink them. This was indeed the case with the Nithari killings. Front pages of nearly every national paper is filled with a piece or two about the new revelations in Nithari case. Let me remind you that this will end pretty soon, and things will back to normality. But before that happens let us admire few people, who are the real, behind the scene people, people who really made this happen, or to say that they allowed this to happen. People who are made this wonderful piece of news which rather became fodder for news mill, for for last few weeks and even for few weeks to come.

Who are they, they are Times person of year, 'YOU'.

YOU, is a great music lover and a obsessive TV viewer, it have a headphone over his head, and eyes fixed on TV, looking for news produced by people like him, other YOU.
Mr. Cannibal was killing, and his victims were so nice that they were ready to be cut in pieces as it was for some divine purpose, thus they did not found any purpose to make some kind of noise. Girls with all respect to their minority were molested, and YOU who were in police saw that as their wish granted.
Mrs. Brinda Karat (don't mistake it as Karait, which is a deadly snake) saw bones in Ramdev's medicines, Mrs Karait Karat, people don't require Ramdev for bones, they can churn it from their own mill. Lady Karait Karat went to Nithari, but forgot to look the manufacturing process and took that valuable movement to use her jibe instinct.
MONEY:Answer to every problem, is going to be given to every one, whose family lost some one in this incident created by YOU. Probably YOU also wants money, so they allow suc things to happen. Hey but I really dont see any purpose of DNA test, why do you want to check for deceased identity , every one will get money to keep their mouth shut, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav( Soft Lion Yadav) have plenty of it.
Common YOU keep it up,because their is plenty of money with other like YOU. Hey one nice song to hear, just load it on your I Pods, Jeena Yahaan Marna Yahaan, from Mera Naam Joker, Mukesh was great in it, though movie bombed at box office.
